Christmas Flower Lamp Gifts: A Real Flower That Outlasts the Season
A Christmas present gets judged twice — once on the morning it is opened, and again in February when it is still somewhere in the room. A preserved flower lamp is built for the second one. A real bloom, sealed in clear resin, lit from below, still exactly as it was on Christmas Day.
See all 12 lampsThe short answer
A flower lamp works as a Christmas gift because it is one of the few gifts that does not expire. A real preserved flower is sealed inside a clear resin sphere on a beech wood base and lit by a warm LED, so it looks the same in spring as it did under the tree. Prices start at $59.90, engraving adds $5, and shipping is free worldwide.
What makes it a good fit for December specifically is the timing of it. Everything else about Christmas is temporary — the food, the wrapping, the tree. This is the one thing from the day that is still doing something in July.
What usually happens to a Christmas gift by February
This is not an argument against other gifts. It is the reason a flower lamp is worth considering in a month when everyone is buying the same six things.
| Gift | What it looks like in February | What she has to do to keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Fresh flowers | Gone within a week of Christmas | Trim the stems, change the water, watch them drop |
| Scented candle | Either burned down or never lit again | Nothing — but there is only one evening in it |
| Chocolates or a hamper | Eaten by New Year | Nothing, which is the point and also the limit |
| A preserved flower lamp | On the bedside table, still lit | Nothing. No water, no trimming, no replacing |
The part that decides whether it arrives in time
A Christmas gift that turns up on 28 December is a difficult thing to hand over. Our published shipping policy is 3–7 business days to make the lamp and 7–15 business days in transit, which means the last safe week is earlier than most people assume.
| What you are ordering | Order by | Why this date |
|---|---|---|
| No engraving, US / UK / EU | 27 November | 7 days to make plus 15 in transit, with a week of slack for carrier delays |
| Engraved, US / UK / EU | 20 November | Engraving needs extra preparation time, and December is our busiest month |
| Australia, New Zealand, parts of Asia | 13 November | Longer transit and customs clearance on top of the standard window |
Which flower to choose at Christmas
The flower is the message, so it is worth picking deliberately rather than going straight for red. Every lamp below is a real preserved flower, photographed in daylight so the colour is honest.
| Flower | What it reads as | Best for | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deep red rose | Lasting love, and it is not subtle about it | A partner, a first Christmas together | $59.90 |
| White rose | Calm, quiet devotion, a fresh start | A mother, a sister, a calm bedroom | $59.90 |
| Pink carnation | Gratitude and family feeling | Mum, a grandmother, a host | $59.90 |
| Red hydrangea | Warmth and celebration, a fuller shape in the sphere | A friend, a colleague, a table centrepiece | $59.90 |
| Astrantia | Understated, almost botanical | Someone whose taste is quiet | $59.90 |
| Purple carnation | Admiration, a little more unusual than pink | A friend who dislikes predictable gifts | $59.90 |
| Tulip | New beginnings — useful in a year that is changing | Someone moving, starting a job, starting over | $74.90 |
| Sunflower | Open, uncomplicated joy, in the largest sphere we make | A milestone, or someone who fills a room | $98.90 |
What actually arrives
The lamp arrives assembled, in its own presentation box, with the USB cable it charges from. Nothing needs building and nothing needs buying separately.
The flower sits inside the resin sphere and the LED is in the base, so the light comes up through the flower rather than down onto it. That is why the petals look lit from within rather than spotlit.
Charging is by USB, and a charge lasts through the evening at the low setting. The lamp is made for ambient light — a bedside glow, a shelf, a hallway table — not for reading.
If it is a gift, the box is the wrapping. It is plain enough to hand over as it is, which matters when you are ordering in the last week of November and there is no time to do anything clever with it.
Adding a name, a date, or one short line
Engraving is a $5 option on the side of the beech base, and it is the difference between a nice object and one that could only have been meant for her.
Short text looks best — a first name, a date, two initials, or four or five words. A long message has to be shrunk to fit and ends up looking cramped, which defeats the purpose. If you are ordering for Christmas morning, a date is often the better choice anyway: 25.12.26 will still be meaningful long after the year it was given.

What do you buy for a woman who already has everything?
Something that does not need space, does not need charging daily, and does not need her to do anything. A flower lamp at 65mm is about the size of a large apple, so it fits on a bedside table or a shelf without rearranging anything. That is usually the real obstacle with someone who has everything: not the price, but finding a gift that does not become another object to manage.
Will it arrive before Christmas?
If you order by 27 November for a non-engraved lamp, or 20 November for an engraved one, it should. Our processing time is 3–7 business days and delivery is usually another 7–15 business days, so those dates leave a buffer for December carrier delays. They are planning dates rather than guarantees — our shipping policy sets out the full terms, including how customs can add days.
Is the flower real, or is it plastic?
It is a real flower that has been preserved — cut at its peak and treated so its sap is replaced by a preserving solution. It stays soft and keeps its colour, and it is no longer living. The tell is variation: no two Nitela lamps have a flower positioned exactly the same way. Moulded copies are identical from one unit to the next.
Does it need batteries, or does it plug in?
It is rechargeable by USB and the cable is included. There are no batteries to buy. A full charge runs through an evening on the low setting, which is the setting most people leave it on.
Can I have it engraved, and how much does it cost?
Yes, on selected lamps, for $5. A name, a date, initials or a short line all fit. Keep it short — long text has to be reduced in size and ends up looking cramped on the base. Engraved pieces are made to order and cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or the personalisation is wrong.
What if she doesn’t like it?
Non-personalised lamps can be returned within 14 days of delivery if they are unused and in their original packaging. If anything arrives damaged in transit, contact us within 7 days with photos of the lamp, the packaging and the shipping box, and we will sort out a replacement or refund. Personalised pieces are the exception, since they cannot be resold.
